Platformly Content Snippets
00:00 Hi, Julien here from the Platformly team. In this video, I’m going to do a quick demo of Content Snippets… So what are Content Snippets exactly?
00:08 Content Snippets are small bits of editable content that can be placed in emails, allowing for customizable content to populate. The idea here is to help you personalize email content, for better results, including better conversion. This feature is available for all members, at no extra cost.
00:27 You can access it from the email editor, here, as well as the email builder, here, under the “Elements” tab. In this example, we’ll use the email editor.
00:39 Simply click on the CS button and you will see 2 options: Add New Condition and Add Saved Content.
00:47 Here you can read, if you select this option, you will be able to create a condition. You will then have to write or select the content to display, if the condition is met. As for the second option, if you select this option, you will be able to select saved content. You can manage your saved content here.
01:06 Let me show you this second option first. If you click here, you will be able to select content that you previously created and insert it into your email copy. As you can see here, I have a PS for Active Members, a PS for Canceled Members, and some text about a special offer for growth members only.
01:24 If you haven’t created content yet, you can do so by clicking on the plus button here… This will open the “Snippets” section, which I will show you a bit later. So you could for example create a Signature, or PS like I did, for Post Scriptum.
01:39 Once you have created content, you simply need to click on the refresh button here, and select it here to insert it in your email copy so you don’t have to write the same content on your emails over and over. Now you know how this works, let’s talk about the 1st option, “Add New Condition”.
01:58 If you click here, you will see 2 options: Condition With New Content (if you select this option, you will be able to create a condition. You will then have to write the content you want to display, if the condition is met, directly in the email editor); and Condition With Saved Content (if you select this option, you will be able to create a condition and select saved content to display, if the condition is met. You can manage your saved content here, which is the section I just showed you).
02:27 If you click on the first option here, you can create a condition: If the contact is in a specific segment, If the contact is not in a specific segment, If the contact has a specific tag and If the contact doesn’t have a specific tag.
02:46 You can also add a new condition, add a following condition, add a nested condition, and add default content, which is content recipients will see, if they don't match any of the conditions set above.
02:57 And of course you can save the condition you create as a template, by clicking here and entering a name, meaning you can then load it from here, by clicking on “Load Template”. If you create a condition you believe you might re-use in the future, don’t hesitate to save it as a template, to save you time.
03:15 So let’s quickly create a condition. If Tag is Equal to “Starter”, I click Apply, and here I need to write the content I want to show recipients with the starter tag. What’s above and below will be seen by all recipients. What’s within the condition, will only be seen by recipients with the Starter tag. This a very basic example.
03:44 You can create much more advanced conditions of course, using the options I just talked about.
03:49 Here is a preview. Here I can select the tag, so this is what recipients with the Starter Tag will see.
04:02 And this is what all recipients will see. That way you can see exactly the recipients on such and such segment or with such or such tag will see.
So here, as you noticed, I have to write the content I want to display when the condition is met.
04:18 If you click on the 2nd option here, you can create a condition as well. This time, I will be able to select content I previously created. So this time, if Tag is equal to Growth, as you can see here, I have an option to add saved content, to select content I previously created, and insert it in my condition.
04:41 I selected the content I had previously saved, and remember, if you haven’t created this bit of content yet you can do so, by clicking on the plus button here. Then I click Apply, let’s preview this email.
04:56 Here, I select the Growth Tag, and this is what recipients with the Growth Tag will see, and this is what all the recipients will see.
05:08 So, just to summarize, the first option here, Condition With New Content, content I will need to write in the email, and second option, Condition With Saved Content, content I previously created.
05:23 Now let’s take a quick look at the Snippets tab, look at it in the Setup section. Here, if you click on Setup, and then on Snippets here, this is where you can manage your templates and saved content.
05:36 And to manage templates, you can manage your templates, as you would’ve guessed, you can create new templates, edit or delete existing ones, and under saved content, you can manage your saved content, including your signatures, PSs, and other types of content you might want to insert in your email copies.
05:55 Alright that’s it for today, I hope you found this video useful. If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our friendly support team at getsupport@platform.ly.
